All of our work is underpinned by three guiding values Care, Discovery and Collaboration. Our mission is provide outstanding education and behaviour support services to pupils at risk of exclusion or to those who have been permanently excluded. We do this through an effective support continuum to pupils, schools and families including Forge: Response, Forge: Re-engage and Forge: New Beginnings. We know this support impacts positively upon pupils educational and life trajectories.
We operate with a set of core values that are integral to a Therapeutic Community. The Forge School TC Core Values
The three key Values that underpin all our work at the Forge:
Care
Relational and developmental trauma is a phenomenon that helps to explain many of the behaviours we see from pupils at the Forge. In providing a safe and secure environment – grounded in a trauma informed approach – alongside appropriate levels of challenge and support, we help pupils to engage in meaningful reciprocal relationships. ‘Healing whilst Learning’
Discovery
As a pupil begins to find the courage to test out new ways of relating, space is created for meaningful, reciprocal relationships to shape pupils neural networks towards becoming an engaged and curious learner, with compassion, empathy and resilience. Access to high quality teaching & learning supports rapid academic progress and improved academic outcomes.
Collaboration
As a pupil begins to open to the new possibilities of meaningful reciprocal relationships, change begins – supporting our pupils to flourish.
